VIPER Alumni Board
The VIPER Alumni Board (VAB) consists of a group of volunteer VIPER alumni who organize events and initiatives to help keep VIPER alumni engaged with the University and each other. VAB was established in 2020 with the mission to promote three core values in mind:
- Creating a community for the alumni of the VIPER program
- Providing mentorship and guidance for the current students
- Increasing awareness of VIPER and its mission to advance energy science and technology
If you are an alumus of the program and have any ideas of events you would like to see or are interested in getting involved with the board, please fill out the form below.

VIPER Alumni Interview Program
All VIPER Alumni are invited to join the VIPER Interview Committee and help advance our efforts to offer all VIPER applicants an opportunity to speak with an engaged VIPER alumnus. The alumni interview provides an invaluable opportunity for students to learn more about the VIPER program and provides us with valuable information about prospective students to help make more informed decisions. We appreciate all of our Alumni Interviewers!
The Penn Alumni Ambassador Program (PAAP)
The Penn Alumni Ambassador Program (PAAP) connects students and alumni at meaningful points throughout the Penn experience. As a VIPER student, you can get involved through two types of engagement. The Welcome Program offers a brief, one-time outreach — a short email or phone call — to newly enrolled Penn students, giving you the chance to offer encouragement and share your own experience as they begin their journey.
Starting in 2026, PAAP will also launch two mentorship tracks: Flash Mentoring for quick, one-time conversations and Formal Mentoring for more structured, ongoing partnerships. Both are designed to create flexible ways for students and alumni to connect, learn, and grow across the Penn network. If you're interested in getting involved, you can join the Alumni Ambassador Program to indicate your interest and be notified when opportunities open.
